KOffice 1.5 was just released and now supports OpenDocument (OD) as its default file Format.
http://www.koffice.org/announcements/announce-1.5.php I think that it would be good to include examples of OD format interoperability by using KOffice files wherever possible in our work. Showing how OD is compatible and dependable regardless of the parent application is a selling point of OOo. But with OOo it seems that we over stress compatibility with M$ Office, now we have another (FOSS) office suite to use in our examples (and another file format). What's more, if there is a compatibility problem with other OD files, we should know about it. I don't use KDE, but will bloat one of my Gentoo systems just to install KOfiice for this noble purpose. -- Regards, Rick Barnes www.nostabo.net View my OOo tutorials and other references at: http://www.nostabo.net/openoffice.php ******************************************************************* PRIVILEGED - PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL This electronic mail is solely for the use of the addressee and may contain information which is confidential or privileged.
