Tried with 3d disabled, dithering, opengl (one, the other, both) all resulted in truncated lettering. Just for the record: Linux mysystem.org 2.6.18-1.2239.fc5 #1 Fri Nov 10 13:04:06 EST 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I have sent screenshots to you directly.
