This may be an advantage.  :) There is nothing worse than a subject
matter expert explaining things in such a way that it totally confuses
the newcomer.  I use a stats program where the examples are often so
sophisticated that the newbie is left wondering what does what.  Someone
who is learning may be able to put things in context a lot better.
