[authors] GS guide Ch8 - Getting Started with Draw revised

I have revised Ch8, Getting Started with Draw, following Regina's 
and Gary's reviews which turned up several major probems and a 
lot of minor ones. Many, many thanks! I just do not see any of 
these things when I'm working on too many chapters at once.

I hope my revisions haven't introduced new problems!
Another review, especially by someone else, would be very welcome 
at this point.
