Gary,
I was going to suggest using the OOoAuthors Forum for keeping track of
who's doing what on which chapters of the books, but the Forum seems
to be gone (or at least the link from the OOoAuthors site leads to an
error message). I know that we never really used the Forum, despite
your (and others') best efforts to encourage us, so I suppose it was
removed for lack of use. Do you know?

Apparently so--due to nonuse. It might be possible to resurrect it,
though. We went through a dry spell where few volunteers were writing
much at that time when it was deactivated.
The forum would be a good place to park items for various projects.
However, we are not always that busy. Especially during late 2006...
I was thinking of it mainly for the purpose of keeping track of
who is doing what, for example if several people are working on
fixing problem graphics, or which chapters of which books have
been checked against which software level.
As you pointed out earlier this week, OOo2.3 is available for
testing; it would be good for people to start going through
everything looking for what needs updating for 2.3 and either
updating it or at least making a list of what needs to be done.
This sort of tracking could just as easily be done using a Google
spreadsheet, at least if everyone involved had a Google account
so they could be added to the list of "collaborators" on the
spreadsheet. (Otherwise it depends on someone like me to fill in
the spreadsheet from info people post to the list, and I am one
of the worst people around for keeping a tracking spreadsheet up
to date, even for what I'm doing.)
