Ok, I've been trying to follow the instructions on the web page on how
to retract a chapter. However, the only three seem to have been reviewed
recently by yourself. Above you say to look at any of the chapters
except ch1? Do I just download and review away? or is there some
mechanism for retracting chapters that are not in the review list?
The usual instructions don't translate well to reviewing published
chapters. Although you can retract a published file, it's best to not do
so, because that makes the file invisible to anyone without Author
privileges. I must revise the instructions.
In this case (reviewing pubished chapters of the Calc Guide):
1) Go to this page.
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/calc/published_final/folder_contents
(Plone often brings you into the View page, where you can't see the State
of chapters, or their "last modified" dates. You need to be on the folder
Contents page to see all that.)
2) Pick any of the ODT files with a date of 2005 or 2006 and click on it.
3) Download the file from the page you're taken to.
Aside: on this page there is a drop-down list on the right-hand end of the
blue bar, to change the State of the chapter from Published to Retracted.
But as I said above, it's best to not do that.
I hope this helps!
On a related matter:
If possible, please use the latest development build of OOo2.3, which you
can get from here if you don't already have it:
http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html
Note: You can have both the current stable version (2.2.1) and the
development build on your machine at the same time. They won't interfere
with each other.
