I've downloaded Chapter 8 Using Graphics In Calc for review. Also Id like to outline how I installed the ooo-dev-2.3 in parallel on Ubuntu for anyone who might be struggling with this on a debian-like system.
I installed debootstrap, schroot, and dchroot. apt-get install debootstrap schroot dchroot I followed the instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebootstrapChroot So, its quite complicated. But possible. Shelagh
