Yes, Getpivotdata is a new function in version 2.3.1. And since the chapter about the DataPilot is based on 2.1, it's not mentioned in there. Currently I'm in the process of translating / updating the German version of this chapter. The above mentioned function was what I had in mind, when I asked if someone is updating this chapter.
