I've recently been using Ch8 of the Writer Guide (Working with Graphics) as a reference while doing some writing on another project. I've found and corrected several out of date descriptions and revised some instructions a bit.
I also added some new material, including a description of using tables for captioning figures (instead of frames) and why one might want to do that. (Info on using separate paragraphs for this purpose was already in the chapter.)
