Yay! I am very happy that my drum-banging about involving tech writers in
open source might be having an effect.
I will point him to this list and to the website. Is the "Writers Needed"
section up to date? Any other suggestions?
The "Writers Needed" section may need some updating, for example to
change the focus to writing for OOo3.0 (other changes may also be
needed). Gary just made some good suggestions, and there probably are
other new features that need to be documented.
I suspect that most of the missing chapters of our books (esp. the
Calc Guide) may be a bit advanced for most TC students, but we have
talked on several occasions about developing more tutorial and how-to
information to complement what little is available on the OOo
Documentation wiki... so that's another possibility.
I am really glad to hear that your "drum-banging" seems to be having
an effect. That's really great news.

Also, it would be topical to have something in Writer dedicated to
blog-site authoring, somewhat similar to what MSO has incorporated into
itself. More than likely, a number of those tech-school kids must have
their own blogs and could develop a Writer chapter from those.
