The first draft of Chapter 14, Customizing OOo (Getting Started guide)
is now ready for review. I have included and expanded material from the
old "Menus and Toolbars" chapter, an example from the old Appendix A
(thanks, Peter!), and new info on extensions. Because of the diverse
origins of the material, the result may be even less consistent in
wording and presentation than some of my other efforts. :-)
This chapter needs detailed review. And if anyone who has used any of
the extensions has any tips or comments to contribute, that would
improve the chapter. I've included some comments from my personal use of
the PDF Import and Template Changer extensions, but I have yet to use
the others. If you think some other extensions are worthy of inclusion,
please suggest them. Remember, this book covers all components of OOo,
so I wanted to give some representative examples and in not much depth.
Component books (such as the Writer Guide) could have more in-depth
coverage and/or mention more extensions specific to that component, if
we want to.
