I need to learn more about all parts of OOo anyway. In the past I have
found that people who don't know too much about the software catch the
doc errors more quickly because they have to follow the instructions :)

Couple of questions:

1. I would be working with V3 documentation, beginning with the Getting
Started module, right?

2. I am currently using V2.4.1 of the software. I presume I will need
to download V3, right?

Thanks.
You can keep both versions 2 and 3 on your system. Because of differences between the two, it's best to use the most current version for your work. I still use v2.4.1, although v3.x sometimes fails on Vista. That's probably more of a Vista issue, but Vista works OK with everything other than OOo.

If Jean wants to get out another print version of Getting Started, then work on that first or do it concurrently with anything else.

Barbara,
You will find a choice of "m3" or "m4" version 3 builds. I'm running m3, which has a serious problem with hidden text. Gary's running m4, which has its own problems. I'm going to try m4, so I guess that's the one I'd recommend. The "Load Beta" link on OO.o Downloads leads to m3. I'll let someone who knows, describe how to find m4. /tj
