All o/s use the AutoCorrect method as described in the Help.

However, for those people who prefer to use keyboard shortcuts, I want to tell them how, since the Help does not say (probably because it is o/s-dependent).

(I find that the AutoCorrect method is often not very useful when editing material written by others, or does not always give the result I want when typing; keyboard shortcuts are much more reliable in those situations.)

Is there something written tip-wise about not using AutoCorrect, so that it should be disabled when editing (especially other's documents) due to undesired behavior? Whenever I cannot get my editing to do what was intended, disabling AutoCorrect is the first area to check. Having the track changes set to not record might be another at times when something won't be deleted as I want (Edit > Changes > Record [toggle off]).

BTW, sometime next month I will dig in and copyyedit again. A firm in India will keep me more than saturated with technical editing until then. Maybe, I will do a couple chapters in the interim--just for a change-of-pace.
