Thanks to Andreas Mantke and Marko Moeller, OOoAuthors will soon be live
on a new (updated) instance of Plone (the CMS system the site uses).
There are many improvements in the new Plone, which I think we will all
welcome.
The new site, and its navigation, look quite different from the current
one. I plan to make some cosmetic changes to the English section when I
get a chance (and learn how), but overall I think it's an improvement.
We are in the process of setting up user accounts for the active members
of the group, with your current privileges. During this week or next,
you should receive two emails from the new instance. One is a "password
reset" notice for your userID from the new site. Follow the instructions
in that email. You can use the same password as you are using on the old
site, if you wish.
We'll let you know when this process is done. If by then you have not
received these emails, but you consider yourself an active member of the
group, let us know and we'll fix it. Part of this exercise is to dump a
huge number of inactive accounts, some of which were obviously set up by
spammers, but with so many people, we're sure to miss authorising
someone legitimate.
We are also in the process of copying all the live content from the old
instance to the new one. More about that later.
