How do the 14.1pt inner margins for those page styles (OOoCopyright
and OOoFrontMatter) in the A4 book template work out in actual
practice? Why are those margins generally within the creep
allowance--pretty much rendering those inner margins unreadable? BTW,
the outer margins are 70.8pt for those two custom page styles.
Those page styles are used for the copyright, ToC, index, and
front-matter pages.
(and in a later note)
The chapter pages' inner margins are much wider than those 14.1pt inner
margins to which I was referring. The book that Lulu prints was
typically
6 by 9 in size with small font sizes, not the A4-page size of that
"book."
But again, I do not know what the purpose is for the A4 book.
The A4 *book* template is one I put together for producing a full book
from the individual chapter files.
The title page for each chapter (page style: OOoFirstPage) is the only
page style that has different (wider) inner margins. All the others
(the ones you mentioned, plus OOoPageStyle) have the small inner
margins. All page styles (except for OOoFirstPage) should be the same
as those in the chapter template.
The A4 book is for people who would like to have the whole book as one
PDF (instead of having a collection of individual chapter files), but
it is intended, like the chapter files, to be read *on screen* (two
pages side-by-side) and not printed.
As Andy noted, I've put a notice on the GS book's cover page about
this. (It's also on the Writer Guide and the Impress Guide.)
Apparently I have failed to add upload a version of the book template
containing that notice. (I've been considering adding the notice to
the chapter template as well.)

Roger that.
BTW, I just finished copyediting the first Calc chapter--the one in the
Draft folder. I will upload it in a few minutes. Among others, there
were numerous instances where the capitalization of some words did not
follow the orthographic customs used in the GUI's tooltips. One graphic
also had those differences.
