Use the latest stable version, which is 3.1.1. That's probably what you have.

http://download.openoffice.org/next/ is the place to find the latest
developers' build of the next version of OOo, or the 'release
candidate' when it reaches that stage. It's up to you whether you want
to play around with the forthcoming version, to see what's changing
and whether your favourite bugs have been fixed. It will usually
install have a code name so you can keep both the stable version and
the next version on the same machine.
