We use dialog never dialogue even when the pic was taken from the UK edn & has not yet been changed.
All of the books except the Writer Guide use dialog not dialog box, but there are inconsistencies. Long story for a day when I'm not typing on a phone. As mentioned in another note, it may now be time to look more at some of these relatively trivial consistency issues. First let's see what the main OOo style guide says.
