Hi Claire
Commiserations on the problems you are having, I hope you can fix them
soon.
I found the first betas and rcs of 3.2 relatively unstable on one or two
of my systems. The rcs 4 and 5, the latter being the version released
were much better.

There is a wrinkle to bringing diagrams from Draw into Writer. Not sure
if you have been caught yet with it, but if you have text and graphics
mixed in a diagram, and then try to scale it in Writer, it ends up
looking very sad. The text and graphics seem to scale at different
ratios, the text does not fit where it was etc.

The trick I found out (from Solveig's blog at
 http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/

http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2009/06/how-to-put-a-drawing-into-a-writer-document-safely-and-more-quickly-in-openoffice.html

check it out)

is to convert the drawing to a Polygon first. Then resizing works fine.

regards from Switzerland (again, but only until Monday when I will be in
Nepal for 3 weeks)

Martin

PS I am just about finished on another couple of chapters of the Draw
Guide, stay tuned ;-)
