Hi
I have a large UML diagram that Mariano has created and it currently
sits on its side in a portrait page. If I create a new section and
then do a manual break and try to set the page layout as landscape
all the pages in the document change to landscape when I only want
the 1 page to change. Any ideas how I can do this or is it not in
the functionality of Writer yet?
You can get plugins that will do this for you. But I don't think it is
a native ability of Writer.
The extension I am thinking about is called Alba.

IIRC, it's a native ability, and written up in the WG.
1) Find the landscape /page/ style in the template.
2) Enter a manual page break before the page, and use the "set style"
box to refer to the landscape style. (You may notice that all the
following pages are now landscape. Not to worry :-) )
3) Enter another manual page break after the page, and set the style
back to portrait.
