IMVHO emacs giving problems is less a problem than URL stability: Info mode could be fixed. Paul, can we please revert this change in Autoconf? If need be, I'll learn emacs to submit a patch so that it copes. What are the errors in makeinfo by the way, and how do they manifest themselves in the info file? Asking because I haven't come across them and apparently they weren't the cause for this bug report either. If they are a major issue then I'll shut up. Cheers, Ralf
