I'm on Solaris 8, with the following packages from SunFreeWare:

autoconf-2.53-sol8-sparc-local.gz lynx-2.8.3-sol8-sparc-local.gz
automake-1.6-sol8-sparc-local.gz m4-1.4-sol8-sparc-local.gz
bash-2.05-sol8-sparc-local.gz make-3.79.1-sol8-sparc-local.gz
binutils-2.11.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz ncftp-3.0.1-sol8-sparc-local.gz
cvs-1.11-sol8-sparc-local.gz ncurses-5.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz
egd-0.8-sol8-sparc-local.gz openssh-3.1p1-sol8-sparc-local.gz
findutils-4.1-sol8-sparc-local.gz openssl-0.9.6c-sol8-sparc-local.gz
gcc-2.95.3-sol8-sparc-local.gz prngd-0.9.23-sol8-sparc-local.gz
gcc-3.0.3-sol8-sparc-local.gz samba-2.2.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz
glib-1.2.10-sol8-sparc-local.gz tar-1.13.19-sol8-sparc-local.gz
gtk+-1.2.10-sol8-sparc-local.gz vim-6.0-sol8-sparc-local.gz
gzip-1.3.3-sol8-sparc-local.gz wget-1.8.1-sol8-sparc-local.gz
less-358-sol8-sparc-local.gz zlib-1.1.4-sol8-sparc-local.gz
libtool-1.4-sol8-sparc-local.gz

I have a project which uses auto* that I'm pulling from cvs. Running the
configure script works fine, except an error abou the 'missing' script
being missing. Kinda funny. When I issue the make command, I hit an
error about depcomp not being present. The make command is using a
relative path with resolves to the root of the project folder (where the
configure script and main makefile are).
