Thanks! I knew it was something very simple.
Another question: I thought configure.in was just a shell
script substitute, so I ommitted the "{}".
Also missing brackets around DIET do not disturb autoconf.
Is the follwing OK, or are there any issues (like portability)?
AC_SUBST(DIET, $DIETDIR)
