As requested by configure, I am filing this report. When running the configure script of Autoconf on NextStep (and probably OpenStep and Rhapsody), it reports that it could not find a shell supporting shell functions.
Oddly enough, the NextStep factory-supplied shell _does_ support functions, so it is not clear why this message is being emitted. % cd autoconf % ./configure Found no shell that has working shell functions.
