This has already been fixed in 2.59c. Be encouraged to try out 2.59d: ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/autoconf/autoconf-2.59d.tar.gz to ensure it works with your code; we are aiming at releasing 2.60 RSN, possibly this weekend, so any show-stopper bugs would be good to know.
