This is the thing, I wasn't sure what's acceptable as core functionality, or it needs to be handled separately whether as a check or module etc. To clarify, it's not for one project that I'm working on where it is a one-off change. I hit the problem often trying to package things, so having the checks as part of the build infra is useful.
