Hi,

The reason we haven't switched to 2.2 is that we rely on a
third party kernel module, which isn't available for 2.2 yet :(

Anyway, thanks for your help (especially hpa). I was hoping for
a solution along the lines of "add a spinlock() here", but
apparently it wasn't that easy.
