what happens when you do the following:
linux# smbclient -L tao -U Administrator
linux# smbmount //tao/C /WinNT/tao -U Administrator -C -P passwd
what is in your auto.misc file ?
something like this for tao ??
...
tao -fstype=smbfs,login=your_id,passwd=xxxxxx ://tao/C
