you can get the latest autofs-3.1.3 from your favorite
site.... ( ftp.XX.kernel.org:/pub/linux/kernel/{version}/daemon/autofs

I don't have a rh-5.1 box anymore...but you can use the autofs
script from 3.1.3 and use it on the rh-5.1 box...
