I have been reading the about all the problems with smbmount 2.0.3
and autofs. I wouldn't recommend changing the autofs code for this
now since the smbmount options will soon change back to the original
version. The code changes are already in the CVS tree
of samba 2.0.5 smbmount.c (entry 1.20.2.9 from Jun 11):

Samba maintainer Andrew Tridgell writes (Fri Jun 11 1999):
