Hi automount gurus (and others),

Hopefully this is just a small question with a simple answer.

I have a host teal on which I can say:

     mount -t nfs blackie:/home/suzanne/XXX/YYY /home/suzanne/XXX/YYY

and the result is a well populated directory /home/suzanne/XXX/YYY on teal
with all the files from blackie. I can still see all the other files in
/home/suzanne/XXX (as well as YYY).

However if I use the automounter on teal as follows:

/etc/auto.master

     /home/suzanne/XXX /etc/auto.suzanne --timeout 60

/etc/auto.suzanne

     YYY -rw blackie:/home/suzanne/XXX/YYY

I get a well populated YYY, but all the (other) files in XXX are obscured.

So I tried:

/etc/auto.master

     /home/suzanne/XXX/YYY /etc/auto.suzanne --timeout 60

/etc/auto.suzanne

     . -rw blackie:/home/suzanne/XXX/YYY

But nothing happened.

How do I achieve the same effect as the manual mount. i.e., just overlay
YYY with the directory on host blackie and leave XXX otherwise intact?

Is it possible?

Cheers,
Geoff Russell
