Hello everybody,

I am trying to integrate a new RedHat 6.0 box
in our network and I have troubles getting the
automounter mount correctly the direct mounts
specified in our NIS server maps

The auto.master features an indirect mount (homes)
and a direct mount, that runs just fine on SunOS,
Solaris and SGI automounters:

/homes auto.homes -rw,soft
/- auto.direct -rw,soft

The auto.direct direct map is a very simple map,
as follows:
/data1 blueguy:/bulk/data1
/data2 blueguy:/bulk/data2
[...]

When it comes to Linux, the indirect mount is fine,
but a funny, empty '-' directory appears in my /,
instead of having
/data1
/data2
aso

If this is not working, there is any way to fake a
direct mount? I just want to avoid /etc/fstab and
take advantage of centralized NIS administration.

thanks a lot
