Folks,
We started with the RedHat 6.0 distribution. We are trying
to upgrade the Kernel to 2.2.12 SMP (we are multiprocessor),
and during boot we got errors like the following
====

If we go back and boot our 2.2.5-22 SMP kernel everything is fine (BTW -- our
auto.master
does include the "-n").
========================== auto.master
# For details of the format look at autofs(8).
/misc /etc/auto.misc --timeout 28800
/usr/local /etc/auto.local -n,rsize=8192,wsize=8192
# time /pub/comwww mounts out after 5 minutes
/pub/comwww /etc/auto.comwww -n,rsize=8192,wsize=8192 --timeout 600
/pub/cgi-bin /etc/auto.cgi -n,rsize=8192,wsize=8192
.... more deleted.
==========
We had been running knfsd-1.3.3 and upgraded to knfsd-1.4.7 -- did a reboot with 2.2.12
and seemed fine??? We did NOT apply any kernel patches associated with knfsd.
Any guidance on this would be welcome. The mount failures seem almost random
during boot and they are bad -- this is a big file server and folks notice.
Best regards!
John
