FWIW, I think this is ridiculous. This is widely in use at any shops
running Suns and should be supported regardless of whether its design is
flawed. This is supported by the automounters in SunOS, Solaris, HP-UX
and Irix that I've seen, and I don't see why it shouldn't be supported
in Linux based OSes as well.
To reiterate, what is the objection to the "semantics" of the `+'
anyways?
