auto_ -> auto. in init script

Greetings!  Regarding the following line from the autofs init script:

                map=`echo "$map" | sed -e 's/^auto_/auto./'` ,

is this necesary?  We have a Debian bug from a user apparently wanting
to use maps like auto_home.
