Actually, the map is distributed via NIS, as opposed to be kept in a
file. That way it can be edited centrally. The passwd maps etc are
also distributed via NIS.
At some future time we're probably going to move everything to LDAP.
I'd like to provide an LDAP lookup method for autofs, too.
