No, that's not the issue. The issue is that you should be allowed to
give access to people you don't fully trust to a machine.
I don't know anyone who disagrees with that statement. No one is
trying to forbid you to give such accounts.
Your "security is bad" philosophy would result
in a universe where I would have to tell them "no way, you can't have an
account."
Well, you could just change the file mode on /dev/fd0
before you give them accounts.
