Lunx could benefit from an automounter
that mounts removeable media when it is
inserted, like mediad in IRIX. I think it
would be more efficient if it worked with
the kernel, especially for devices that can
notify the system when media is changed,
or if the user has pressed an electronic
eject button. So, maybe it would work well
as an additional feature for autofs rather
than a seperate daemon. I also think that
the user-space autorun daemon is a poor
solution.
Are any of the autofs maintainers
interested in this? Do you think it would
instead be better to have a seperate daemon?
