I have recently installed SuSE 7.0 on a new linux box. This
is configured identically (as far as I can see) to a fully
operational SuSE 6.4 linux box we're also running.

The machine is accepting logins with network passwords, the
yp authentication is fine, but users home directories (on
other machines) are not automounted. Users start in '/'
directory.

A typical error message is:-

        Console log for aker
        Jan 10 14:12:39 aker automount[12308]: parse(sun):
        dequote("oxygen:/home/staff:username") ->
oxygen:/home/staff:username

Presumably that second ':' character in the path is the
problem. I have a temporary fix just using a local
/etc/auto.home file for users likely to login to this
machine but will need a long term fix for the yp database to
continue with this linux setup.

Hope this is helpful.

Chris.
