I have installed RH7 onto two intel boxes (Dell). I have set-up one as a NIS and NFS server. The NIS works perfectly for server and clients. The problem I have is with the automounting on the server.
The server will not automount itself. If I su to a user within the NIS, it logs in, but cannot cd to home account. If I exit the NIS use the su again then the user logs in normally. With a link being placed in /home. I get this message in the message file when the login fails
Feb 25 05:42:19 ackbar automount[536]: attempting to mount entry /home/clidman
Feb 25 05:42:19 ackbar modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module bind
Feb 25 05:42:19 ackbar automount[976]: >> mount: fs type bind not supported
by kernel
Feb 25 05:42:19 ackbar PAM_unix[975]: (system-auth) session opened
for user clidman by root(uid=0)
The rest of this email is output of command giving you information of the set-up.
These two machines are new machines that we have bought and would like to be incorporated into a much larger network of linux boxes.
