make sure lcars is in your dns on the linux box
linux# ping lcars
if that fails.... use lcars.foo.com:/home insted
in /etc/auto.home
you cannot use this syntax....not supported

that should be on a linux box..
home -fstype=nfs,soft,rw lcars:/home
