Sort of.  The command line looks like...

/usr/sbin/automount --submount /usr/local/projects/pko/ program /etc/auto.projects 
-Dpref=dir

I don't know if the -Dpref=dir gets parsed or not, but I do know that
it doesn't show up in any environment variables.
