Hi,
I hope this hasn't been asked before, but a net search revealed little info.
I'm trying to get the Sun-style /net feature of the AutoFS 4 release working.
Here's some details:
# uname -a
Linux mcerha-lnx 2.4.2-7 #1 Mon Jul 9 18:00:50 PDT 2001 i686 unknown
# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf)
# cat /etc/modules.conf
alias autofs4 autofs
# rpm -q autofs (built from the source rpm on ftp.kernel.org)
autofs-4.0.0pre10-1
# cat /etc/auto.master
/misc file /etc/auto.misc
/net program /etc/auto.net
/tools nisplus auto_tools -rw,hard,intr,noquota,timeo=15
/auto nisplus auto_indirect -grpid
/users nisplus auto_home -rw,hard,intr
# cd /net/terrabyte
bash: cd: /net/terrabyte: No such file or directory
# tail /var/log/messages
Jul 30 15:13:24 mcerha-lnx automount[3672]: mount(nfs): mkdir_path terrabyte/home
failed: Operation not permitted
Everthing else is working like a champ. BTW, /etc/auto.net is the standard
shipped with the RPM. Any ideas on a fix would be appreciated. TIA.
Cheers,
Matthew Cerha
