i havent tested autofs on slackware lately...
you can find some of the autofs i used on slackware...

and another at rc.autofs.slack7.1
the script you're using seems to be a generic one..
- if redhat... keep going and do redhat()
- if debian... keep going and do debian()
- if not.."Unknown System"...
- you can modify it a little and add slack() to the list too
