You might try the O'Reilly NFS/NIS book, though it's terribly
outdated by now, and very SunOS 4.x specific. The man pages might
help also, I don't know.
More current is "NFS Illustrated" by Brent Cakkaghan of Sun. It's
probably not as Solaris specific, but there's only one reference to
Linux, and that's not in the Automounting chapter. It does cover
automount, autofs, and mentions amd.
O'Reilly has updated their book, but I haven't looked at it.
