It works now. And best of all I did not need to change the code. Since autofs-4.0.0-pre7, spaces in the value part of the map entry can be escaped. I simply overlooked it, but when reading the code I thought: this should work, and it does.
I've attached an example of an executable map that lets you automount e.g. /smb/123.234.123.234-shared/ by cd-ing into it. It works fine for me. Jos
