Hi All,

I am noticing that a std Rhat linux distro (7.3) is having some problems
mounting some old Solaris 5.5.1 boxes that I have. ls's and reads appear
to be ok but writing a large (greater then a few hundred K) results in
hanging my Solaris 5.5.1 box (forcing it down to the ok prmpt eventually).
just mounting one share on /mnt with fs type = nfs resulted in the same
behavior. When I set nfsvers=2 as an option to mount the problem appears
to have disappeared.
I attempted to start automounter with the nfsvers=2 (that should pass
it to mount as an option) but it quietly dies -- I surmise that this is
due to the fact that its passes the fs type as autofs and not nfs. After
viewing mtab I saw a min and max proto defined. I am ASSUMING that is to
set the nfs version. IS that correct ? If so how do I set it ?
Thanks in advance for reading and any help you can lend me. Just out of
curiosity has anyone else seen this issue?

Joe
