My very own brown paper bag release...
I have just uploaded patch release 4 from the automake-1.4 maintenance
branch. This time configure.ac from Autoconf-2.50 is supported properly.
The tarball is available now from:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/automake/automake-1.4-p4.tar.gz
Or as a a diff or xdelta against the previous release:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/automake/automake-1.4-p3-1.4-p4.diff.gz
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/automake/automake-1.4-p3-1.4-p4.tar.xdp.gz
...and shortly from all GNU mirror sites. Or else directly from anonymous
CVS using the tag `Release-1-4-p4'.
The changes in this release since version 1.4-p3 are as follows:
* Deal with configure.ac as well as configure.in -- this time for real!
* The version numbering system now allows three point version numbers,
such as 1.4.4, without thinking they are alpha release numbers.
Unless you use configure.ac, or 3 point release numbers there is no need to
upgrade to this release.
Cheers,
Gary.
