Hi, thanks for contributing to open source and ahead of time for any
advice you can give this novice. I have been trying to install gspy
(gspy.sourceforge.net) on Mandrake 10, and have run into a problem that
the author (who has been very helpful) cannot easily suggest a solution
to. Googling the error message suggests that this is a frequently
encountered problem (but has not helped me find the answer). When I
make, I get:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] g6]# make
cd . && aclocal -I macros -I m4
aclocal: configure.in: 14: macro `AM_PROG_AS' not found in library
make: *** [aclocal.m4] Error 1
Following the advice found via Google, I updated automake, but still get
the same error messages. This:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] g6]# rpm -qa|grep auto
automake1.7-1.7.9-1mdk
autoconf-2.13-19mdk
autoconf2.5-2.59-3mdk
automake-1.4-23.p6.mdk
suggests that I have created a mix of old and new automake and autoconf.
Would anyone care to guess what I should do next?
Your help is very much appreciated. Best wishes, Mark
