The fact that there is immediate widespread appreciation of this effort
is good evidence for a widespread sense of confusion. :-) Perhaps it
would make sense to add "AM_LDADD" as a synonym for "LDADD" purely for
the sake of consistency? ("Yes, please." IMNSHO :)
