Putting them in *_SOURCES is common. If they're to be installed, put them in include_HEADERS or nobase_include_HEADERS. If they are generated and should not be distributed, put them in nodist_*_HEADERS or nodist_*_SOURCES. See "info Automake Headers". Cheers, Ralf
